A giant tree rising from the flooded Amazon forest

Experiences · with a native guide

Explore the Amazon, Ribeirinho style

Every excursion is led by Levir or the family — unhurried, authentic, and shaped by the rhythm of the river. What you do depends on the season, and both are wonderful.

The two faces of the river

When should you come?

Across the year the Ariaú rises and falls by several metres. The high water opens the flooded forest to canoes and brings wildlife close; the low water reveals beaches and is perfect for fishing and hiking. There's no bad time — only different kinds of beautiful.

High water · March – September

The Flooded Forest

When the river climbs into the trees, the forest becomes a maze of green waterways. You paddle silently through the igapó — the flooded forest — right among the canopy, where the animals are.

Pink dolphins

Levir knows where the boto gather. Watch these legendary river dolphins surface in the still water.

Wildlife by canoe

Sloths, monkeys, toucans and countless birds — seen up close and calm, from a quiet dugout canoe.

Giant trees & treetop channels

Glide beneath centuries-old samaúma trees and into hidden corners only reachable when the water is high.

Low water · September – December

Rivers & Beaches

As the waters retreat, white-sand river beaches appear and the forest floor opens for walking. It's the season for fishing, swimming and campfires under the stars.

Fishing the Amazon

Try your luck for piranha and other river fish — then share the catch at the family table.

Jungle hikes on foot

Walk forest trails with Levir, learning the medicinal plants, tracks and sounds of the living jungle.

River beaches & swimming

Laze on hidden sandbanks, swim in warm black water and watch the sky catch fire at sunset.
